You will find us two km from the City Wall, at road 143, entrance opposite ICA Maxi. There are two different bus lines that stop about 400 m from the hostel (ICA Maxi stop), rural traffic line 11 and city traffic line 2. See tour list at www.gotland.se/kollektivtrafiken
History
The STF Visby / Rävhagen hostel has been around since 2007 when we bought the facility from Gotland’s Ice Hockey Association which had only used the facility as accommodation for camps and group activities for the ice hockey. When we took over the facility there were only Rävlyan and the cabins, so there were only 94 beds at Rävhagen. Annex Dubbe then contained only office space. Immediately when we took over the plant, rebuilding and expansion began.
The first thing we did was to put shower / toilet and kitchenette in each cabin. The same winter we rebuilt annex Dubbe into 10 living rooms. The years 2010 and 2012 were added to the annex Donner and Wöhler. Those houses were moved from Klintehamn where they were pupils’ homes and schoolrooms at a high school during a 10-year period. From the beginning, the two houses came from Lärbro where they were most recently part of the Lärbro Prison Service, but the houses were built in the 1940s as a war hospital, so it is an exciting journey our annex has been about.
